Our Oral Surgery Courses are for General Dentists in Canada, the USA, and Europe who want to take a hands-on oral surgery course in the most exotic countries in the world, like Brazil.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

● Evaluate clinical and anatomical considerations relevant to wisdom tooth extraction and determine appropriate surgical approaches based on case presentation.

● Apply principles of flap design, surgical access, tissue handling, and wound management during dentoalveolar surgical procedures.

● Develop a systematic surgical approach to wisdom tooth extraction based on tooth position, surrounding anatomy, and anticipated procedural difficulty.

● Demonstrate, under faculty supervision, appropriate surgical techniques for the extraction of wisdom teeth during live-patient clinical sessions.

● Recognize common intraoperative and postoperative complications associated with wisdom tooth extraction and discuss strategies for prevention and management.

● Apply principles of atraumatic surgical technique and preservation of surrounding hard and soft tissues.

● Assess surgical outcomes and formulate appropriate postoperative care and follow-up considerations

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

● Assess clinical and anatomical factors relevant to implant placement, surgical extraction, and alveolar ridge management.

● Identify patterns of alveolar ridge resorption and relate available bone anatomy to surgical treatment planning.

● Describe appropriate approaches to alveolar ridge reconstruction and maxillary sinus augmentation when inadequate bone volume is present.

● Apply principles of surgical flap design, tissue handling, and wound management during implant and extraction procedures.

● Select appropriate surgical approaches based on patient anatomy, clinical presentation, and treatment objectives

● Evaluate clinical indications and patient selection criteria for immediate implant placement following tooth extraction, and describe the surgical principles involved in achieving primary stability, managing the extraction socket, and preserving hard and soft tissues.

● Demonstrate, under faculty supervision, appropriate surgical techniques for implant placement and/or dentoalveolar extraction procedures encountered during live-patient clinical sessions.

● Recognize intraoperative considerations and potential complications associated with implant and extraction surgery and discuss appropriate management strategies.

● Integrate hard- and soft-tissue considerations into surgical treatment planning to support predictable healing and clinical outcomes

The course runs for five days, beginning on Monday at 9:00 AM and concluding on Friday at approximately 2:00 PM.

Daily sessions are scheduled from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some days extending until 8:00 PMdepending on clinical case flow.

Also it offers condensed Programs for International Dentists Intensive, 5 days hands-on clinical programs that provide international participants with opportunities to gain practical experience in advanced dental procedures under faculty supervision. 

With a high volume of patients from across Brazil, CEVO provides a dynamic clinical environment where education and patient care go hand in hand. Its programs also help expand access to specialized dental treatments for patients who might otherwise have limited access to such care.

The course is predominantly hands-on.

• Day One: Half-day lecture covering foundational concepts

• Days Two to Five: Full clinical training with live patient cases

CEVO works with a dedicated marketing team and maintains partnerships with general hospitals that refer patients who are unable to afford advanced dental care. Treatments are provided at no cost to the patients, supporting both education and community care.

Yes. All patients undergo a comprehensive screening process prior to surgery.

Pre- and post-operative medications and protocols are fully managed by the course team.

Participants will have the opportunity to perform a wide range of advanced surgical procedures, including:

• Surgical extractions

• Impacted wisdom teeth extractions

• Dental implant placement

• Sinus lifting procedures

• All-on-X full-arch rehabilitation

• Periodontal management around implants

Yes. The course provides access to a high volume of patients. Prior to the program, participants complete a preference form indicating their top three procedures of interest, allowing the experience to be tailored as closely as possible to individual learning goals.

The course maintains an optimal learning environment with a 1:2 instructor-to-student ratio, ensuring close supervision and individualized guidance.

Most instructors speak English. For instructors who do not, English-speaking assistants are available to ensure clear communication at all times.

Yes. Transportation is fully arranged by the course:

• Shuttle service from Rio de Janeiro to Valença or Volta Redonda on the day prior to the course

• Return shuttle to Rio de Janeiro on the day following course completion

Yes. Each participant is provided with a private room for six nights:

• Check-in: Sunday before the course

• Check-out: Saturday after the course

Flights are not included. However, we are happy to assist with flight planning. A WhatsApp group will be created for participants to coordinate travel arrangements if desired.

Yes. The course is accredited by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and provides 50 Continuing Education (CE) hours – Category 3.

While travel plans are flexible, we recommend arriving 2–3 days before the course and departing one day after its conclusion to allow for rest and travel ease.

Brazil offers a wide range of cultural, culinary, and leisure experiences. Participants are encouraged to explore the country before or after the course.
